There are many household cleaners on the market today but most consumers are unaware of the impact these cleaners can have on them and the environment.

Mainstream households cleaners contain ingredients such as solvents and fragrances that can linger in the atmosphere degrading indoor air quality. Exposure to some cleaning products can cause allergic reactions and respiratory irritation in some people.

There is also concern about chemicals in these cleaners being absorbed through the skin. Some chemicals stay in the body without being broken down and long tern effects are yet to be defined as these chemicals have only been around for a short time.

Many people are now turning to more environmentally friendly, “green” products to clean their homes.
